Accelerating Cardiovascular Research in Wales
The Research Responsive Fund (RRF) is a small grant scheme designed to pump-prime innovative research projects, helping researchers build towards larger grant applications. Projects should be aligned with one or more of the National Cardiovascular Research Network’s strategic themes and should lead towards competitive funding applications.
What are the Network’s strategic themes?
- Tackling Arrhythmias and Myocardial Disease
- Vascular Ageing and Clinical Outcome
- Cardiovascular Data and Advanced Analytics
Examples of what the RRF will fund
- Proof of concept work including preliminary studies to generate or conclude pilot data.
- Travel to build multi and interdisciplinary collaborations and refine research ideas.
- Purchase of small, enabling equipment essential for preliminary work.
Who can apply?
- Researchers at HEIs, NHS or Social Care organisations in Wales
- Open to all career stages, with early career encouraged
- Applicants must be NCRN members
- Collaborative applications strongly encouraged
What funding is available?
- Maximum £7,500 (fully justified costs) for a duration up to 6 months
